I started taking riding lessons at the age of 8 and rode several times a week through my first year of college. In grad school, I helped take care of a horse who was given to me when his people couldn't afford to trailer him to Wyoming but I couldn't keep him. My stepdaughter was introduced to riding at age 5 and is making a career for herself with horses. I've taken lessons again on and off over the past decade.
